WHY IT MATTERS
The expensive jobs are the surprising ones.
Most overruns come from features the quoter didn't catch – a thin wall, an undercut, a fit problem with the previous revision. Part Intelligence catches them at the front door, not on the shop floor.
CAD ENGINE
Geometry analysis you can trust.
The CAD engine looks at wall thickness, overhangs and thin features to determine manufacturing issues – with per-process thresholds tuned to additive, CNC, and molding workflows.
- Deterministic measurement. The engine measures the geometry, such as volume, surface area, feature dimensions, to determine manufacturability.
- Process-aware thresholds. A 0.6mm wall is fine on SLA but risky on MJF. Phasio knows which is which and warns accordingly.
- Visual heatmaps. See the thin walls, the deep pockets and the steep overhangs overlaid on the part in the browser.

HISTORICAL RECOGNITION
Phasio recognises parts you've already made.
Filenames change, customers re-export, revisions creep in. Phasio identifies the part itself – by geometric fingerprint – and surfaces what happened last time you saw it.
- Fingerprint, not filename. Re-uploaded parts match even when the file is renamed, re-exported, or re-oriented.
- Scrap risk surfaced up front. If a part historically caused rework or scrap, the quoter sees that warning before pricing it again.
- Under-quoting protection. If a similar part lost money last time you ran it, Phasio nudges the price up before the quote leaves the inbox.

VISUAL MATCHING
From a photo on the floor to the CAD in your library.
Photograph a part on the shop floor and Phasio finds its CAD counterpart in your library – useful for re-orders, inspection, and returns. No more digging through emails to find which job a stray part belongs to.
- Snap and search. A phone photo from any angle is enough. The matcher tolerates lighting, background, and orientation.
- Re-order in one click. Found the part? Spin up a re-order draft, with the original price and routing preloaded.
- Returns and inspections. When a customer returns a part, the inspector confirms which job it belongs to by photo – no more guesswork.
SECURITY
Intelligent does not mean insecure.
Phasio's AI models run on our own infrastructure and your CAD files never leave our network. No third-party AI providers see your geometry. No shared training data. No surprises in your data residency report.
- Models on Phasio infrastructure. Our CAD analysis and pattern-matching AI run in our VPC, not on OpenAI or any third-party API.
- No cross-customer training. Models do not learn from your parts to benefit another customer. Your library stays yours.
- SOC 2. Independent audit covers our data handling, access controls, and incident response.

“I was skeptical about yet another manufacturing platform. Their introduction was so personalized, it felt like they truly understood our specific business needs.”
UNDER THE HOOD
What Part Intelligence actually does on every quote.
Wall thickness analysis
Heat-map of thin sections, with configurable thresholds to match any process.
Undercut and overhang detection
Flag features that need support, multi-axis machining, or tooling considerations before the quote ships.
Smart manufacturability checks
Use our scripting language to implement any manufacturability check you'd like.
Manufacturability warnings
Phasio flags features that historically caused scrap or rework – before they cost you on the floor.
Photo-to-CAD lookup
Snap a photo of a part on the floor and find its CAD counterpart in your library. Useful for re-orders and returns.
Secure CAD handling
Parts uploaded by are stored in your own, personal vault and encrypted with AES-256 encryption.
FREQUENTLY ASKED
Common questions
What CAD formats does Phasio analyse?
STEP, IGES, X_T, STL, 3MF, OBJ and native files via conversion.
How does historical part matching work?
Phasio computes a geometric fingerprint of every part you quote – independent of filename, units or origin. When a new file matches a fingerprint within tolerance, you see the historical quote, the price it sold at, and the production outcome. It even matches across customers if you choose to enable cross-customer lookups.
Where does my CAD data go?
It stays on Phasio infrastructure. We do not send your geometry to third-party AI providers, and customer libraries are isolated by tenant. The CAD AI engine runs in our own network.
Is the AI accurate enough to quote on?
The CAD engine is deterministic – it measures geometry, it does not guess. The pattern-matching and manufacturability AI is probabilistic and is always positioned as advisory: it suggests, your team approves. Customers tell us this is exactly the right level of automation for quoting.
Can I see what features Phasio extracted?
Yes. Every quote includes a feature breakdown. You can override any of it if your judgement differs.
Does it work on assemblies?
Yes – Phasio handles multi-component assemblies. Each component is analysed independently and oriented within an assembly.
